Introduction

What is something that is all around you?  You can't see it, taste it, or smell it, but we can't live without it!  Pack your bags, we're going to take you on an "Energy Expedition"!


The Task
 

After looking at websites, you will choose one of the following energy sources to make a brochure about:

  •     Hydro-electric plants
  •      Fossil Fuels (coal,natural gas, oil)
  •     Nuclear plants
  •     Wind
  •     Solar
  •     Geothermal
  •     Biomass

The Process

To complete the assignment you will need to follow the steps below:
 

  1. 1.  We will study the unit on Energy in class.
  2. 2.  You will be assigned to a partner.
  3. 3.  You and your partner will look up the website "Energy Expedition".
  4. 4.  Read the introduction.
  5. 5.  Read the tasks/steps and pick an energy source to make a brochure on.
  6. 6.  Your brochure needs to be folded in half.  The cover page needs to have the title, a picture and the name of the   students working on the project.  The inside of the brochure needs to have a definition, general information/facts(2-3), two reasons why you would use this energy source and two reasons why you would not.  Close with three sentences on why you think this is the best energy source to use.

Evaluation
Your project will be graded on the Brochure Rubric.
