Introduction
Animals have special body parts and behaviors that enable them to meet their needs.  What are three special adaptations for birds?  What are some special body coverings that help animals to survive?  How do an animal's colors and shape help it?  What special behaviors enable animals to survive?  Get ready to discover some interesting animal facts as you answer these questions.

The Process

Print the Animal Adaptation Sheet.  Complete the sheet using the resources listed above.



 

Evaluation

1.  Design and draw an  imaginary  animal with its own unique adaptations.  Tell about the animal's habitat and the adaptations that allow it to live there.

2.  Choose an animal that is unfamiliar to you.  Do research to find its special adaptations that allow it to survive in its environment.


 

Conclusion

Through your research, you have learned some special ways animals survive.  Summarize what you have discovered about animals in their quest for survival.
