The Harrold JH Tennis team brought home first and second place medals from the district tennis tournament.  Savanah Cato and Colton Clouse won first place in the mixed doubles division.  Shannon Raines won second place in the girls singles division.  Other participants included Dalton Price, Daly Welch, Ashley Doherty, McKenna Hopkins, Maddison McKay, Alexandria Ortega, Robbi Barnett, Gabby Daniel and Makayla Butler. 

The annual Six Flags field trip is scheduled for Friday, May 23^rd.  All students in 3^rd through 6^th grade will leave at 7:00a.m. for the event.  This event is under the direction of Mariana Pena and Pamela McCleary. 

Students in Mrs. Blalock’s  English classes are finishing up the year with six weeks projects. Seventh through tenth grades are writing short stories.  The junior class members are creating collages that depict the theme of a set of stories they have read during the year.  The Seniors are completing a study on interviews and resumes.  Each senior will complete a resume and then participate in mock interviews with area businesses.

Harrold students participated in the annual “Play Day” on Fri, May 9^th.  Each class competed against other classes in events such as Volleyball, Flag Football, the Fireman relay, balloon pop and  Tug of War.  Points were awarded for each event they won.  Eighth grade won the Jr. High division and Freshman won the High School division.  

The 2008-09 Yell Leaders have been selected.  6^th Grader Lyndsey Price, 8^th grader McKenna Hopkins, 9^th graders Shannon Raines and  Maddison McKay will be the Harrold Yell Leaders for our next school year.
